The 2018
Lincoln Navigator has earned itself the top honor in the Reader’s Choice Award
during the Detroit Auto Show. The luxurious SUV
made its public debut last year at the New York Auto Show and also secured the
top position in the 2018 North American Car, Truck and Utility of the Year
awards. Unlike most awards where the voting is done by car experts, the Detroit
News Reader’s Choice Award involves voting from general public who can actually
buy and drive the vehicles on show.
The 2018
Lincoln Navigator is powered by a phenomenal 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged engine
developing 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a
10-speed automatic transmission system. The SUV offers top-of-the-class
adaptive suspension system which can match any road condition for a smooth and
confident drive. Moreover, the SUV presents multiple driving modes.
The
overall bulky persona of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator sets it apart from its
rivals, such as, the 2018 Cadillac Escalade. Some of the luxury features
include Approach Detection System, Power Deployable Running Boards and Automatic
Folding Mirrors.
On the
inside, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator incorporates Lincoln Connect, 4G LTE Wi-Fi,
heads-up display, a 10-inch adjustable rear display with USB and HDMI port. The
Driver Assist technologies include Lane-Keep Assist system, Adaptive Cruise Control,
Adaptive Headlamps and more. The pricing for the 2018 Navigator starts from
$95,000 in North America.
Other
vehicles that received awards at the show include the Ford GT - ‘Best Dream
Machine’, the Chrysler Pacifica - ‘Best Family Fun Finder’, the Jeep Wrangler
Rubicon - ‘Baddest Off-Road Vehicle’, the BMW i8 Roadster - ‘Coolest
Technology’. The award for the ‘Best Future Concept’ was given to Infiniti Q
Inspiration, while the Smart Fortwo was titled as the ‘Most ECO-Friendly’ car.
